At twelve minutes past five on the morning of April 18, 1906, the San Andreas Fault moved, and about forty-two seconds of strong shaking broke San Francisco. Then came four days and nights of fire. This is the story on real maps and photographs: the fault beneath the city, the fire chief lost in the first moments, the dynamite, the undercounted dead, and a city largely rebuilt by 1915. 0:00 Intro 0:37 The Gateway to the Pacific 1:39 Two Plates, One Fault 3:04 Decades of Small Shakes 3:50 Forty-Two Seconds 6:17 Four Days of Fire 9:12 The Undercount 11:23 Rise From the Ashes Sources: 1906 San Francisco earthquake: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1906_Sa...
