Hey guys! In this video I'm sharing my full thoughts on the Comet Tech 1/100 Sinanju after completing the entire build.
This is a third-party take on the MSN-06S Sinanju from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, heavily inspired by the Takumi Studio Sinanju conversion design originally created for the MG Sinanju. Comet Tech takes that aggressive Takumi-style design and turns it into a standalone 1/100 kit — giving you the massive armor, elaborate backpack, huge wings, detailed frame, and oversized weapons all in one package.
And let me tell you...
THIS THING IS ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE.
In this review, I'll go through the complete build experience, plastic quality, construction, articulation, gimmicks, accessories, size comparisons, shelf presence, and break down all the pros and cons to see if this giant Sinanju is actually worth adding to your collection.
The Comet Tech Sinanju gets a LOT right. The overall design is incredibly detailed and aggressive, the massive backpack and wing sections give it insane shelf presence, and the amount of mechanical detail throughout the kit makes it feel like a completely different beast compared to the standard Sinanju.
The kit also comes packed with some really cool gimmicks, including the opening wing sections with moving thrusters and a massive main weapon that can be configured into different forms.
However, this kit definitely has some things you need to watch out for.
The biggest issue is fragility. Several connections use C-clips, some of the pegs and joints are fairly thin, and the massive backpack puts a lot of weight on the frame. The metal beads used for the waist tubes can also be frustrating during assembly, and the lack of a proper display-base connection is disappointing for a kit this large.
I'll also be talking about the instruction manual, nub marks on the electroplated parts, the head details, the lack of an LED option, articulation, weapon configurations, gimmicks, and how this massive Sinanju actually feels once everything is put together.
IMPORTANT: The kit shown in this video has been heavily customized and painted by me, so the metallic red, gray, and other finishes you see are NOT the stock appearance of the kit.
If you're a fan of Sinanju, Takumi-style Gunpla designs, massive 1/100 mecha, or third-party model kits, hopefully this review gives you a good idea of what to expect from the Comet Tech Sinanju and whether this giant "hand grenade" deserves a place in your collection!
