Ok, but what can you DO outside academia?

This week, Jen and Paulina answer the viewer question: "What do you DO outside academia?" Jen shares an exercise to help you figure out what work is a good fit. Paulina emphasizes the difference between your expertise/specialization and marketable skills. And we both share what work some of our clients have gone into after they left the academy. Check out the Ivory Tower Inner Fire Summit, Oct 9-11, where two dozen current and former academics will speak about their experiences building businesses outside traditional higher ed institutions. Register for free and get a VIP Pass for extended access and extra free goodies from the speakers: https://ivorytowerinnerfire.com/2-sum... Paulina Cossette (‪@AcadiaEditing‬ ) and Jen Polk (‪@FromPhDtoLife‬ ) meet on Mondays at 12pm ET to talk about leaving academia and what life can be like when you do. We discuss career options, how to get paid for the skills you already have, and more. Leave a comment with your question for us to answer!
