CLOSE YOUR EYES ARE SHOWING OFF ON 256TH NOTE | Reaction

Piano, bass, and groove give 256th Note plenty of personality before you even get into the vocals. In this video, I’m checking out CLOSE YOUR EYES’ new seven-track mini album, which brings jazz-inspired hip-hop, R&B, and softer emotional moments together in one compact project. “Open Your Eyes” sets the tone with looping piano, quick drums, and saxophone woven into its hip-hop and R&B sound. “Drop That!” takes that musical freedom in a more energetic direction, sampling Yoon Si-nae’s “Enjoy This Night” and bringing strings, upright bass, and ’90s-style hip-hop into the mix. “Vibe Check” keeps things moving with groovy drums, piano, and a balance of vocals and rap. “Slowly Bleed” shifts the atmosphere toward cinematic pop, blending electronic textures and alternative R&B with expressive falsetto. The softer stretch brings another side of the project into focus. “Fool For You” leans into warm, vintage R&B, while “Baby Bossa Nova” featuring Hyelyn Joo adds a breezy rhythm and a different vocal combination. “Eternity” closes things out with a piano-led ballad and lyrics written by all seven members for their fans, CLOSER. There’s a lot to listen for across these tracks, from the instrumental details to how their voices move between rhythmic delivery and more delicate melodies.
