Revelation Chapter 1 April 19 2026

(Chapter 1 – Revelation | Verse by Verse Study) In this opening message of the Book of Revelation, Pastor David Fitzgerald begins a complete, verse-by-verse study of Scripture’s final book, focusing on the true purpose of Revelation: not to conceal truth, but to reveal Jesus Christ in His risen glory, sovereign authority, and certain victory. Revelation Chapter 1 establishes the foundation for the entire series. It presents the divine origin of the message, delivered from God the Father to Jesus Christ, then to John through an angel, confirming the authority and reliability of what is written. This chapter reveals: Jesus Christ as the faithful witness, risen Savior, and King of kings The certainty of future events according to God’s perfect timing A call to read, hear, and obey the Word of God Christ’s visible return, where every eye will see Him A powerful vision of Jesus in His full glory, walking among His churches His authority over life, death, and eternity Pastor David carefully explains the historical context, symbolic language, and theological depth of the text while maintaining a clear, Scripture-centered approach. Special attention is given to understanding John’s perspective as a first-century witness describing future realities beyond his experience. This study emphasizes: The reliability of biblical prophecy The urgency of living in readiness, not speculation The centrality of Jesus Christ throughout Revelation The call to obedience, not just knowledge The comfort and warning found in Christ’s authority Revelation is presented not as confusion or mystery, but as a clear and purposeful unveiling of God’s plan. This chapter sets the tone for the entire series, calling believers to reverence, faithfulness, and a deeper understanding of who Christ truly is.
