FICKEN OUT?: Chargers Special Teams MELTS DOWN Again with Muffed Punt and Critical Penalty

Los Angeles Chargers’ special teams blunders reach a breaking point—could Ryan Ficken be the first coordinator out the door? Daniel Wade and David Droegemeier break down the mounting pressure after a disastrous start, spotlighting Derius Davis’s costly mistakes, a rash of undisciplined penalties, and a shocking -22.74 EPA for special teams through just four games. The hosts question what Jim Harbaugh’s leadership really brings as the team racks up 16 penalties for 130 yards in a single game, with discipline vanishing compared to previous seasons. Ravaged by injuries, with tackles Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt both leaving the game, the Chargers’ offensive line is forced into emergency mode—leaving Justin Herbert exposed behind a depleted unit. The episode covers breakdowns across all three phases, urgent questions about coaching accountability, and whether the Chargers can salvage their season before it slips completely out of reach. Can Los Angeles regain control or is a coaching shake-up inevitable? Photo Credit: Kirby Lee - Imagn Images Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms 🎧 https://lockedonpodcasts.com/podcasts...
