As a kid, Iowa LB Kelby Telander received a cochlear implant at the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital to help with severe hearing loss. In 2009, he served as a "Kid Captain" for Iowa football. Now, he participates in the Hawkeye Wave as a member of the team.
