The Commander calls on the Hunter to help deal with these growing threats. The Hunter heads into the Coral Highlands to take on Ebony Odogaron, a dangerous Odogaron subspecies known for its aggressive attacks. The Hunter uses the Clutch Claw, Flinch Shots, traps, Mantles, and Palico support to create openings throughout the hunt. The battle grows increasingly chaotic as Ebony Odogaron clashes with Legiana, while assistance from the Boaboa and Gajalaka creates unexpected openings. After breaking its foreleg, severing its tail, and surviving several fierce encounters, the Hunter finally captures Ebony Odogaron. Back in Astera, the Commander confirms that Seliana's new defences have arrived safely and that final preparations for the Dragonrazer are underway. With Velkhana already being sighted outside Seliana's gates, the Commission prepares for its next mission: defend Seliana and drive Velkhana back.
