Tomasz Kosowski returns to court for his Spencer hearing as the judge weighs his sentence following his conviction in the death of attorney Steven Cozzi. CASE BACKGROUND Steven Cozzi, 41, disappeared from the Blanchard Law Firm in Largo, Florida, on March 21, 2023. Investigators discovered blood in the office bathroom and evidence of efforts to clean the area. His remains have never been recovered. Kosowski, a plastic surgeon, was involved in a civil lawsuit against his former employer and others. Cozzi represented defendants in that litigation. Prosecutors argued that Kosowski planned the attack, connecting him to Cozzi’s disappearance through surveillance footage, vehicle movements and forensic evidence. Kosowski represented himself during his bench trial, which began September 14, 2026. He was found guilty on September 23.
