Elton John - The Greatest Discovery (London 2026 & Sydney 1986) DUET

On September 28th 2026, Elton John made a last-minute appearance at the newly-opened APPLE MUSIC HALL in London, performing a one-hour solo set. This show was definitely a special one, being Elton's first pro-recorded solo concert since his performance at the White House in 2022, and before that, his 2009 tour with Ray Cooper (which I regard as solo). The second song Elton performed this evening was "The Greatest Discovery," making its pro-recorded 2020s debut, and being the first pro-recorded performance since 2009. For this duet, I decided to have 79-year old Elton sing alongside his 39-year old self, who, despite his voice being in absolute tatters, delivered a stellar performance of this song in Sydney 1986 with an awe-inspiring orchestral arrangement. Because Elton hasn't performed this song with a full orchestra in decades, I decided to use the Sydney 1986 instrumental for this duet. I absolutely needed to hear what modern Elton would sound like singing behind Paul Buckmaster's classic orchestral arrangement for "The Greatest Discovery." (P.S. I plan to release more duets featuring this London 2026 performance very soon, so stay tuned!) COMMENT your suggestions down below for more edits, and make sure to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE!
