LA County Fire Dept, Helicopters & Ground Crews Extinguish "Vince Fire", #firefighting #brushfire

Two LA County Fire helicopters and Los Angeles County Fire Department ground crews made quick work of a sudden wildfire that erupted in the Valencia riverbed on Tuesday, 4 August 2026. It has since been labeled as the "Vince Fire". Two firefighting helicopters, a Sikorsky S70 and a Boeing Chinook CH-47D, N190LA and N43CU respectively, made repeated water drops from very low altitudes. I arrived on scene too late to catch the last S70 water drop but did see the Chinook in action. The helicopter drops were successful and allowed the firefighters on the ground to move in. Firefighters on the ground worked well into the night before the blaze was fully extinguished. It was a well-orchestrated firefighting effort; LA County Fire Air Operations, LA County Fire, Coulson Unical with the Chinook and brush firefighting experts on the ground. In the end, they stopped the Vince Fire which posed a great threat to nearby homes, businesses and lives.
