EL MÉDANO TENERIFE 🇪🇸 A relaxing 4K walking tour through El Médano, the surfers' paradise of Tenerife: from the volcanic coast north of the town, along the seafront boardwalk and the narrow lanes of the centre, to the main beach, the kite and windsurf schools and the wild sandy beach under Montaña Roja. El Médano is famous for its strong wind... but on this sunny September morning there was almost none! Real ambient sounds, no talking: just the walk, the sea and the sun. ▶️ All my journeys around the world:    • BLOMBLAUM Journeys | 4K Walking Tours   We start on the black volcanic rocks north of the town, with tide pools, sunbathers and a few curious sculptures along the seafront path. From the wooden boardwalk we get the first view over the whole bay of El Médano, with its white houses right on the water and Montaña Roja, the "Red Mountain", on the horizon 🏔️. In the old part of the town we pass little fishing boats pulled up on the shore and Playa Chica, the small town beach 🏖️, then walk through the narrow lanes full of surf shops, cafés and colourful houses. El Médano was a quiet fishing village long before the surfers arrived 🎣. Then comes the main beach: golden sand, turquoise water, the famous Hotel Médano built on pillars over the sea and the big square by the beach 🌳. The long wooden promenade takes us past seafront cafés and one kite, windsurf and wing school after another 🪁. El Médano is one of the best wind spots in Europe and hosts windsurf world championships 🏆... but today the wind took a day off 😄. We finish walking on the sand of the wild beach under Montaña Roja, a protected natural reserve, with smooth sea and sand ripples drawn by the wind 🌬️. 🌼 THE BLOM SIDE OF THIS WALK A huge natural beach, the Red Mountain, relaxed surf-town vibes and, for once, a calm sunny day without wind.
