Naiharwa- When women assemble on occasions like marriage, whole night music concerts(Ratjaga), or occasions like god bharai (celebration when lady of the house becomes pregnant), tonsure ceremony (shaving of child's head for the first time) or on impending holiday, such songs are sung on roof-tops or inner courtyard (aangan). Small children or women start dancing, expressing mirth.These types of songs are called Nakata. They usually refer to very light , humorous situations in family which arise during teasing of family members among themselves. In this song a lady is teasing her husband .The lady of the house is preparing to go her naihar/ maika (mother's abode). The husband does not like this and starts ridiculing the departure and starts wailing. He expresses anguish and asks his mother and elder sister-in-law about wife's whereabouts. He searches the wife on roof-top and verandah. Getting tired, he goes to inner room and starts wailing. He forbids the wife to go to her maika (mother's abode). He entices the wife and pleads to give up the idea of departure. He promises to get the goldsmith to fabricate danglers and ornaments if the wife does not go to her maika. He holds wife's orhni/chunari, and pleads to give up the idea of departure. उत्तर प्रदेश में घरों में जब भी कभी महिलाएं इकठ्ठा होतीं थीं ( जैसे विवाह,रतजगा ,गोदभराई,मुंडन या ऐसे ही छुट्टियों में ) बड़े मजेदार गीत गांती थीं। अक्सर ऐसे स्वर रातों में छतों पर या आँगन में गूंजते थे.और कुछ महिलाएं या घर की बच्चियां इस पैर नृत्य करना भी आरम्भ कर देतीं थीं। येही उनका सरल और सहज मनोरंजन होता था। एक ऐसा ही गीत ये भी है। विवाह के दिन रतजगे में ऐसे गीत ( नकटा ) विशेषकर गए जाते थे।
