Built in 1869, Mohonk Mountain House is famous for its beautiful fall foliage in Victorian architecture. Offering hiking trails and a variety of activities (equestrian, spa, ice skating, kayaking, fishing, etc), it is also a great place to go on a date in New York and New Jersey. However, in the fall foliage season, hotel accommodation costs are so expensive. Even if you only want to hike, you have to pay an entrance fee, but free for restaurant guests. Only hotel guests and restaurant guests are allowed a parking lot next to the hotel, and those who only want to hike can park in the parking lot, a 30-minute walk from the hotel and access the mountain house by trail. However, after Covid, the use of the restaurant has been restricted, so most people hike. It is a gentle course, so if you have strong legs, it is recommended to walk. And since it was early autumn, it was a little disappointing that the fall foliage wasn’t peak yet, but it was still beautiful enough. It is recommended to go at the end of October.
