Jocelyn Morlock - Quoi???

SHHH!! Ensemble piano-percussion duo perform Jocelyn Morlock's "Quoi???" for piano, vibraphone, glockenspiel, and rototoms. Recorded for the duo's third album "Starry Night". Listen to the full Starry Night album here: https://leaf-music.lnk.to/lm310 About the piece: “When I wrote this piece in 1998, I felt somewhat overwhelmed by negativity and I wanted to write an antidote. It seemed to me that there was a lack of exuberant or energetic or even light-hearted music—certainly it felt as though this was the case in academia—and so I decided to write something happy. It is called Quoi??? in part because it is so far from what I was doing at the time that I thought it would puzzle people, and in part just because I love the sound of the word “quoi”. It is a much more open-ended word than “what,” a word which sounds like even though you’re asking, you’ve already made up your mind.” - Jocelyn Morlock About the album: Starry Night flows through a dreamscape of beautiful and unexpected sounds. The music of Starry Night reflects on the night sky, evoking a sense of wonder at the vastness of space, distilling celestial motion into human scale, and exploring how dreams process emotions, memories, and even our own self-conception.
