Mauve (by smoothee) FC!

i finally beat mauve oh my god. this took me over a year to do. i originally started mauve last august and got up to prologue before getting very stuck. i asked histcord for help and they helped a lot but i still couldn't get through it and ended up quitting after over 7 hours. well, it's been well over a year since then and i finally decided to return to mauve after not having played that much celeste in the past year (just like crossover and ssc2026 and spark in the machine really), and i ended up getting back to prologue nearly 4 hours faster than my last attempt and actually finishing the map. i'm extremely proud to finally say i've beaten mauve, even if it's taken me so long to finally finish it off. i don't think i would've been able to really forgive myself if i'd never cleared it for good. overall thoughts on this map? it's honestly really good. the atmosphere is great and the rooms are generally fun. that one room in backtrack that took me forever (jaunt reverse) is because i originally tried to do the method that hyper does in their fc video (which is like three jump inputs in super quick succession) and then after that not working for a while i decided to try out the dultra method which ended up working a lot better and after a while i got it. it still took me forever though and that room was pretty difficult for me. time: 8:10:34 (clear attempt) + 7:20:59 (failed attempt) = 15:32:34 (total) deaths: 11783 deaths (clear attempt) + 5535 deaths (failed attempt) = 17318 deaths (total) enjoyment: 80/100
