Secondhand Man – an indie pop-rock lyric video about memory, identity, and the people who know us best. If you forgot who you were, who would you ask to remember you? "Secondhand Man" asks a question most of us never say aloud: if my own name slipped away, who holds the blueprint of who I was? The song goes looking for the answer in the people around the narrator: the old friend who remembers every bad bet and crooked joke, the mother who reads his silence like words carved in stone, the partner who has seen the corners where his fears rest, and the young coworker who remembers a plain, steady decency. Then it turns inward, to worn-out shoes, lines in the forehead, and silver at the temples, which are the quiet evidence of a life lived. Even with every testimony stacked up, the song ends on an honest, unresolved line: not even I know who I am. Musically it's a warm, driving 120 BPM indie pop-rock track in E major: strummed acoustic guitar, punchy electric riffs, live drums, tambourine, bright piano stabs, and hand claps. It builds through rising snare-and-clap pre-choruses into big choruses, strips back to voice, claps, and soft piano, then lands a final chorus with gang vocals. The upbeat energy carries a heavy question, and that contrast is the heart of the song. If this one made you think of someone who knows the real you, send it to them. 🎧 CREDITS Music & Composition: Midnight Musings Studio Production & Arrangement: Midnight Musings Studio 🔔 SUBSCRIBE New lyric videos from Midnight Musings Studio keep coming.
