Edward Seago enthusiast, Norman Teeling paints Emmet Square in Clonakilty, Co. Cork in plein air.
This is the second of his paintings for his new "Painting in Plein Air" DVD and is also complimented by
a beautiful selection of tunes from his CD "Jazzin' The Shadows"
If anyone has ever ventured into the GPO in O'Connell street Dublin City, they would surely have seen the one by one and a half metre paintings of the Easter Rising in 1916. These paintings were a commission Norman undertook in the late eighties.
his passion for art never ceases!
So it is with his music. He loves all styles and as with art he interprets it as he feel it! This is what he felt as he played these tracks at the time, The Shadows with a jazzy feel!! As a result the album "JAZZING THE SHADOWS" was born!
Here are four more of the tracks.
Norman opens and closes APACHE on a flute and everything inbetween was done on my '82 Stratocaster. The third tune, THE SAVAGE was also played on the same guitar, but with an unbelievable array of sounds and styles, (Time to hang up my boots I think!!)
NIVRAM (No2) and FLINGLEBUNT (No4) Norman plays in the Gypsy Jazz style of our hero, Hank Marvin, on his Maccaferri Toledo
I was honoured to back him on rhythm, bass and programming the drum tracks, Recording mixing and producing the CD and in the process of the DVD
