Scott Bessant cannot say where Venezuelan billions are going

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant was unable to tell Congress where billions that President Donald Trump says are being extracted from Venezuela are going. When asked by Democrat Congressman Sean Casten about the president's claims, Bessant was unable to say if the money was flowing to US persons. The agreement between the Trump administration and the Venezuelan government, in the wake of the capture of former leader Nicolas Maduro, has been particularly murky, with Bessant confirming that, along with oil, the US is also extracting gold and other assets from the country.
