Empire Of The Clouds — 18:05 This is my selection of 20 epic Iron Maiden songs. Most of them are over eight minutes long, but I didn't use song length as a rule. There are other long Iron Maiden songs that weren't selected because they're simply long, but don't sound particularly epic to me. On the other hand, some songs under eight minutes sound very epic, such as "Phantom Of The Opera", which is the shortest track on this compilation at only 7:07. "If Eternity Should Fail" is the only song for which I chose to use an edited version. The original recording didn't have a guitar solo, so I created one myself. As for the intro, I replaced Maiden's original introduction with the one from Bruce Dickinson's version on The Mandrake Project, because I think it sounds much better than Maiden's version, which features a keyboard tone that I personally don't like.
