Let's write an OS from scratch - Assembly Bootloader

In this video, we start writing our bootloader properly in assembly and dig into what actually happens when a PC starts up. We’ll look at why the BIOS loads our boot sector at `0x7C00`, how the CPU address space and early memory layout work, what BIOS memory regions are reserved, and why the CPU begins in Real Mode. By the end, we’ll have a much clearer picture of where our bootloader lives in memory and how we can start planning Stage 2.
