IR8 - Demo 1994

IR8 project was created in 1994 with this line up: Jason Newsted - bass, vocals Devin Townsend - guitar Tom Hunting - drums Ripped from original demo tape. 1. Closssus 2. Nothing 3. Black On Black I've got this tape in my mail when doing Wounded fanzine back in the 90's. You can check it and many more on our underground metal fanzines archive here: www.pressofdarkness.com. At the time I decided not to review it because it wasn't being sold, but it was really cool to get it from his management and listen to this project with other 2 great musicians. So now I'm glad that I could do something with it and post online for other people to hear. Everyone has their opinions about it in the coments, that's great. I think it's nothing very special musically, I like much more what he did on debut Flotsam & Jetsam album and Newsted project later on, and also happy I got to see him live with Metallica in Melbourne (1998) and Tallinn (1999) on "Garage Remains the Same" tour.
