A. R. Rahman Family With Parents, Wife, Son, Daughter & Sister A. R. Rahman was born on 6 January 1967 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His full Name is Allah Rakha Rahman. He is the son of R. K. Shekhar, who was a music composer. His mother is Kareema Beegum, earlier Kasturi Shekhar. He has three sisters, A. R. Reihana, Fathima Rafiq, and Ishrath Qadri. He Married with Saira Banu. It was an arranged matrimonial alliance. He and Saira have a son name Ameen. He has two beautiful daughters named Khatija & Rahima. A. R. Rahman began his career with a band called Roots. In 1989, he, along with his family, converted to Islam from Hinduism; soon after his sister got relief from her severe illness. he got a breakthrough in the film “Roja” (1992). After his debut in “Roja,” he became a household name throughout India. In 2008, he composed the song “Jai Ho” for the movie “Slumdog Millionaire“ for which he won the Oscar.
