Fender Squire Strat Restoration and Repair

Fender Squier Stratocaster Restoration | Neck Repair, Mystery Paint & Electronics Overhaul Stratocasters aren't really my thing, but when I found this Squier at the flea market looking like it had been through a war, I couldn't leave it there. Serious physical damage: a chunk of wood missing from the neck, and covered in what I can only describe as mystery paint. Thick, weird, and definitely not factory. Dings galore. In this video I walk through the full restoration: grafting in a piece of wood to repair the neck, figuring out how to get that paint off (spoiler: a lot of wet sanding), and completely rewiring the electronics from three pickups to one. Is it perfect? No. Is it perfectly adequate? Absolutely. What's in this one: • Neck wood repair: filling and replacing a damaged section • Mystery finish removal: stripping, wet sanding, rubbing compound, polish • Hardware replacement for missing parts • Full electronics overhaul: 3-single coils → 1 humbucker conversion The result speaks for itself.
