Marinduque is a heart-shaped island located south of Luzon, near Palawan. Because of this, it is known as ‘The Heart of the Philippines'. It is part of the MIMAROPA Region in Luzon and popularly known for its magnificent celebration of the Moriones Festival during the Holy Week. It is the fifth smallest province in the Philippines and it is divided into six municipalities: Boac, Buenavista, Gasan, Mogpog, Santa Cruz and Torrijos.
