Week 3: The Holy Spirit | 12 Week Discipleship Course | Ps Ankia van der Merwe

Week 3 of the 12 Week Discipleship Course with Ps Ankia van der Merwe, recorded live on Zoom on 29 September 2026. Who is the Holy Spirit to you, personally? This session goes from Genesis 1, where the Spirit was brooding over the waters, to the upper room where a hundred and twenty waited ten days. On the way: the Helper Jesus promised in John 14, the seven spirits of God in Isaiah 11, the attributes of the Spirit as the Word gives them, why conviction is never condemnation, how one receives Him, and the difference between receiving the Holy Spirit and the baptism with fire. Ankia also tells the story of the encounter she waited years for. Homework this week: study the scriptures on the Holy Spirit and get an understanding of who He is to you personally, not only in the beginning but still today. Write down the examples of how the Holy Spirit moved in the Old Testament and in the New Testament, then write down who He is in your own life. Read Acts 1, 2 and 3 and ask the Lord for a hunger.
