Making faux wood ceramic BLUE BIRD house (436 potters journal)

Today we will look at my nesting blue birds in a wood house but I'm a potter/sculptor so I'll make one in ceramics with a fake wood look to mimic there natural homes. In this series of videos I will demonstrate the making of faux bois, faux wood, fake wood planters, garden pottery and sculpture out of industrial extruded clay drainage pipes. The techniques are widely adaptable to ceramic hand operated studio extruders, slab or wheel thrown pottery. Each video in the series will touch on different aspect of the process, forms and art. There is history over 150 years of faux bois in ceramics, cement, cast iron and it can be found in old cemeteries carved in marble and granite. There will be some food, nature and vlogging too.
