This video is jam-packed with information and demonstration of cutting templates, forming fabric pieces and starch basting for our Applique Project, Miss Kelly. It includes "real time" construction of our first applique template and fabric piece and additional footage of further pieces.
If you've never appliqued or starch basted for applique, this video is for you! Learn along with me how to starch baste. It's easy!

This applique quilt block was designed by Erin Russek for her quilt "My Tweets." "Miss Kelly" is the center motif for this quilt design and I will be creating this block over the next few months.
You may order the pattern by visiting Erin's website: www.erinrussek.typepad.com and clicking on the Order Patterns button on the top right side. I purchased my pattern from Etsy for approximately $15.00.
For reference, here are the fabrics I am using for my quilt. All were purchased at Joann and I got 1/3 yard of each fabric except for the dark purple (1 yd). A couple of the fabrics are noted as fat quarters.
