BEST LAID NORTHERN SOUL PLANS

They say the best-laid plans often go astray—and this stream was living proof! I built a brilliant set; it was all lined up, hit 'Go Live', and right out of the gate the mic died completely after being knocked off the stand for the first five tracks! In true Northern Soul spirit, the show must go on. We let the records do the talking, kept the music spinning, and powered right through until the mic was sorted to finish off a cracking set of floorfillers and soul gems. We also discussed ideas for a pub name during the show. My personal favourite has to be Tilly's Soul Bar! What do you reckon? Let me know your thoughts or other suggestions in the comments below! 🍻🎶 Playlist: BEST LAID PLANS 00:00 | Marvin Gaye – Can I Get A Witness (Tamla, 1963) 06:15 | The Dynamics – I'm Glad I Found You (Black Gold Records, 1974) 08:38 | Bobby Patterson – I'm In Love With You (Action / Paula Records, 1971) (Microphone restored at ~10:50) 11:50 | Spider Turner – I Can't Make It Anymore (MGM Records, 1967 / UK 1976) 14:04 | Cindy Scott – I Love You Baby (Veep Records, 1965) 17:05 | The Superiors – What Would I Do (Verve Records, 1965) 19:35 | Tammi Terrell – I Gotta Find A Way (To Get You Back) (Motown, 1967) 24:10 | Lenny Curtis – Nothing Can Help You Now (End Records, 1965) (Jukebox Jury Vote 1 – Voted a Hit) 27:08 | The Tangeers – Let My Heart And Soul Be Free (Okeh Records, 1966) (Jukebox Jury Vote 2 – Voted a Hit) 29:53 | Marsha Gee – Baby, I Need You (Uptown Records, 1965) (Jukebox Jury Vote 3 – Voted a Hit) 32:30 | Luther Ingram – If It's All The Same To You (Babe) (HIB Records, 1967) 35:33 | The Supremes – Up The Ladder To The Roof (Motown, 1970) 38:43 | The Spinners – Sweet Thing (Motown, 1964) 41:25 | Mary Wells – What's Easy For Two Is So Hard For One (Motown, 1963) 44:28 | Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell – Ain't No Mountain High Enough (Tamla, 1967) 46:44 | Nolan Porter – Keep On Keepin' On (Lizard Records, 1971) 50:10 | The Ivories – Please Stay / I'm In Tears (Wand Records, 1967) 52:20 | Mel & Tim – Backfield In Motion (Bamboo Records, 1969) Welcome to NSTV, where the beat of Northern Soul lives on. I transformed a spare bedroom into a vibrant studio; NSTV is a testament to my lifelong love affair with the iconic music scene. My journey began in 1970 at the legendary Catacombs, and that exhilaration has fuelled every step since.
