Thames Path pt 5. Wallingford to Tilehurst

The landscape surrounding the Thames so far has been pretty flat and much of the path is through long grass meadows. This changes as we walk along this section of the Thames Path. Noticeably at first there are far more trees and woods with deep undergrowth, around Streatly and Goring the topography changes as well and there are hills on either side of the river. I enjoyed this change in the landscapes character, we even had an incline to go over - so refreshing! The Thames is as busy as ever a magnet to all sorts of activities and lifestyles but it has a more settled feel about, it a little less wild and it's bank feel a little more tamed by man.
