Have you ever wondered, "God, what is taking so long?" Whether you're waiting for a job, a medical answer, a breakthrough, or a prayer to be answered, waiting can be difficult. And when we can't see what God is doing, it's easy to take matters into our own hands. In Exodus 32, the Israelites become impatient while Moses is on Mount Sinai. Rather than trusting God, they create a golden calf and turn away from the One who delivered them from Egypt. Their story reveals a powerful truth: Delay provokes dismay, which, when left unaddressed, leads us astray. In this message, we explore how waiting reveals what's inside us, how good gifts can become idols, and how we can learn to trust God even when His timing doesn't match our expectations. What if the delay you're experiencing isn't evidence that God has forgotten you? What if He is preparing you, protecting you, or paving the way for what's next? Your delay just might be your deliverance. Instead of going astray in the midst of delay, we can choose to pray, wait, and trust God. 📖 Scripture References Exodus 32:1–6 Romans 12:12 James 1:17 Matthew 6:33 Hebrews 11:1–2 (faith and waiting) 💬 Questions to Consider Where are you experiencing delay in your life right now? What good gift might you be tempted to turn into an idol? How can you respond to uncertainty with prayer instead of impatience? 🙏 Take a moment to pause, be still, and listen for God—even when you don't receive an immediate answer.
