In this candid interview with Grant Walmsley, we cover a range of interesting topics including former live music venues in Newcastle, a successful career with the Screaming Jets and his most recent musical projects.
Grant was responsible for writing some of the band’s biggest songs, including the hit “Better" and "Sad Song" , helping drive the Jets rise to national success during the 1990s Australian rock boom.
After leaving the band in 2007, Grant continued performing, recording and mentoring musicians, becoming an important figure in music education and the Hunter region’s live-music community.
His career spans touring, songwriting and ongoing support of Australian grassroots music culture. It was an absolute treat to chat to Grant. It's an hour long yet very entertaining. Enjoy!
