Toulouse, Cathédrale Saint-Etienne De la première partie du 13ème siècle, il reste la nef gothique méridional appelée Raimondine d’après Raymond VI de Toulouse. Puis, débute la construction du chœur, à la fin du siècle, en style gothique flamboyant du nord ou de l’ile de France, peut-être dirigé par le même architecte que celui de la cathédrale de Narbonne. Si le style des deux cathédrales est proche, elles partagent aussi d’être inachevées faute d’argent, pas de nef à Narbonne et une nef désaxée à Toulouse. Par contre, la richesse intérieure est remarquable, du retable du Maître-Autel par Gérard Drouet (1662-1670), aux stalles, aux peintures des 17 et 18ème siècle, aux vitraux du 14ème siècle, jusqu’à l’orgue suspendu, aussi du 17ème siècle. On the other hand, the interior richness is remarkable, from the altarpiece of the High Altar by Gérard Drouet (1662-1670), to the stalls, the paintings of the 17th and 18th centuries, the stained glass windows of the 14th century, to the suspended organ, also from the 17th century.
