Foundation Course (Hindi): https://drishti.xyz/jfc-online-course... *************************************************************** In this session, Mr. Sandeep Khatri, expert faculty at Drishti Judiciary, breaks down the recent judgment of the Kerala High Court in Sindhu S. Nair v. Secretary, General Education Department & Ors. (2026).   Core Grounds & Reasoning1. Autonomy & Fundamental Rights under Article 21The High Court declared that a citizen's attire is fundamentally a matter of personal choice, dignity, and self-expression under Article 21 of the Constitution of India. Society, employers, or private managers cannot enforce behavioral or cultural conformity based on subjective personal preferences or traditional notions unless backed by explicit statutory authority.2. Professional Standing & DignityJustice P.V. Kunhikrishnan emphasized that while clothing reflects personal comfort and culture, it can never be used as a yardstick to assess a professional's competence, character, or moral authority. A decent churidar worn in an educational institution does not impair the decorum, efficiency, or leadership of a Headmistress.3. Managerial Command Restricted by Government CircularsThe Court ruled that managerial control over employees is not absolute. Where official government directives—such as the Directorate of General Education’s circular (2015)—explicitly permit female teachers to wear a churidar, any managerial interference or gate-blocking is arbitrary, unsustainable, and legally unenforceable.   This masterclass dissects the constitutional boundaries of personal liberty under Article 21, addressing whether school managers or employers can dictate personal attire to employees without statutory backing, the binding nature of government circulars, and the protection of professional dignity against arbitrary managerial mandates. *************************************************************** 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 : https://drishti.xyz/SocialMedia-YT #PersonalAutonomy #Article21 #KeralaHighCourt #RightToChoice #DrishtiJudiciary #JudiciaryPreparation#law | #judiciary | #indianlaw | #judiciaryexams | #judiciarypreparation | #judicialservicesexam | #judicialservices | #bnss | #bns | #bsa | #crpc | #ipc | #lawexams | #clat
