St. Francis River: Tiemann Shut Ins to Silver Mines in Missouri 3.8 ft

The Tiemann Shut-Ins begin just below Millstream Gardens Conservation Area. The river carves its way through a granite gorge, with numerous smooth, flat faced boulders. The crux is a rapid called Cat’s Paw, a congested boulder garden with multiple routes. An old dam was breached at Silver Mine and can pose a potential hazard. The take out is not far below the dam at a low water bridge near the campground. Length of the run is about 2.5 miles.
