Shaffer Spotlight – A Ride-Along with the Northern Regional Police Department

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, public safety is one of the most fundamental roles of government, and every family deserves to feel safe in their homes, communities, playgrounds and workplaces. I take that responsibility very seriously as your state representative. For this Shaffer Spotlight, it was an honor to go on a ride-along with the Northern Regional Police Department. It’s important for me to continue seeing firsthand the work officers do every day to keep our communities safe. I spoke with Chief Bryan DeWick and traveled with Officer James Ashbaucher. The officers talked to me about the types of calls they’re seeing most often, what a typical day looks like, and offered safety tips for driving on the road. I am a proud member of the House Law Enforcement Caucus and will continue working to support our police officers, ensure they have the resources they need and help keep our communities safe.
