In this segment of DIY Kayak Things, I use 550 nylon paracord to wrap my kayak handles using a cobra weave with an added strand of paracord as an accent color. (Click "Show More" to see details about materials used)
At the end of the video I show pictures of an experimented version where I did half red and half green for accent colors to represent port and starboard, simply add the new color in the middle of the weave by placing it under one of the knots
Materials:
Scissors
Lighter
550 Nylon Paracord (www.paracordplanet.com)
Main Color (Gunmetal Grey): ~6.5 ft to wrap ~5 in handle (you will need more if you do not use an accent color)
Accent Color (Neon Green): No length specified, I just add it in and use it till the wrap is complete.
Kayak Handle (or really anything else you'd like to wrap) - I bought a Vibe SeaGhost 110 and its handles are removable making this DIY easier. You can still make this wrap on non-removable handles, it's just a little harder to do.
Give this video a thumbs up if it was helpful and you liked it. I know it isn't my usual fossil hunting videos but, this Kayak will certainly be helping me find some new place to fossil hunt in the future!
