Ballistic missiles are reshaping modern warfare, with recent conflicts highlighting their impact. Russia’s use of the Oreshnik missile against Ukraine demonstrated Moscow’s ability to retain escalation options, forcing Kyiv to seek stronger air defences. Similarly, Iran’s employment of ballistic missiles in West Asia has prompted the United States to deploy advanced air defence systems to the region. Against this backdrop, India’s Strategic Forces Command has successfully tested the Agni‑IV, an intermediate‑range ballistic missile in the same class. Road‑mobile and nuclear‑capable, Agni‑IV enhances survivability by avoiding the vulnerabilities of silo‑based systems. Incorporating advanced technologies like composite rocket motors and ring laser gyroscopes, the missile can deliver a one‑tonne warhead to 4,000 kilometres, reinforcing India’s deterrence posture and strategic autonomy.   #AgniIV #Agni4 #IndiaMissileTest #DRDO #BallisticMissile #IndiaDefence #StrategicForcesCommand #IndianMilitary #MissileTest #DefenceNews #MilitaryTechnology #NuclearDeterrence #India #Geopolitics #DefenceHQ
