When Indian Matchmaking launched back in July it started a lot of conversation. While widely enjoyed, it sparked debate about colourism, casteism, religious prejudice, and gender inequality, both in Indian society and on-screen. Some felt the show didn't do enough to address those topics, so we have reunited mathmaker Sima Taparia with the show creator Smriti Mundhra to have a conversation about that. The chat was moderated by the wonderful Almass Badat, a London born creative Director and DJ with Indian roots. http://www.almassbadat.com/ 0:00 intro 0:53 colourism 4:42 caste 7:31 religion and diversity 13:51 modern marriage ➡️SUBSCRIBE FOR MORE: http://bit.ly/29kBByr About Netflix: Netflix is the world's leading streaming entertainment service with 193 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, documentaries and feature films across a wide variety of genres and languages.
