Coco Love Alcorn in Kingston Spring 2025 We had an inspiring time with Coco Love Alcorn in Kingston at the end of May, wow! 🎶 In the workshop, she created a space that balanced vocal improvisation with sweet arrangements of her original songs. She shared stories - some lighthearted, like playing Catan with Steph and Paul the night before (where Paul emerged victorious, haha!) and some deeper, about learning to trust that music will come even in moments of uncertainty. She introduced us to a song born from one of those moments of uncertainty, and together we sang "Music will come, peace will come, love will come..." This paved the way for our own group improv. We stepped into vulnerability and courage, and co-created something powerful and completely unique to our group, never to be repeated. The concert was just as special. With 30+ years of stage experience, Coco brings a powerhouse presence. Her live looping had us mesmerised, and her lyrics stirred up healing we didn’t know we needed. The surprise three-part harmonies with Steph & Paul, and last-minute jazz accompaniment by Paul and his esteemed father, Dave Barton, were a special treat. Almost every song turned into a sing-along, even when Coco didn’t explicitly invite the audience to join, oops. It was awesome to hear 70+ strangers raise their voices together! There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world, but when we ask ourselves what we can actually do to help, this kind of coming together to sing feels like part of the answer. Thank you for making the trip to Kingston, Coco. We can’t wait to welcome you back again. 🥰 Song Credit: Nature Calling by Coco Love Alcorn Recorded: May 24th, 2025 A huge thanks to the Kingston Music Office for helping bring this event to life! #groupsinging #kingstonontario
