ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ 421–423 ਦੀ ਇਸ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਸਾ ਰਾਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਅਸ਼ਟਪਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਐ। ਪਹਿਲੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਤੀਜੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਐ। ਇੱਕੀਵੀਂ ਅਸ਼ਟਪਦੀ ਦੱਸਦੀ ਐ ਕਿ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਐ, ਲੋਕ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਆਖਣ, ਤੇ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਸੁਆਸ ਨੇ, ਉਹਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਉਸੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਮੰਗਣੀ ਐ। ਬਾਈਵੀਂ ਅਸ਼ਟਪਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਵਾਲ ਐ ਕਿ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਮੁੱਕੇ ਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਲ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋਵੇ। ਜਵਾਬ ਐ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ, ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਐ; ਨਾਮ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੀ ਸੋਟੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਏਥੇ ਤੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਸਰਾ ਐ। ਤੇਈਵੀਂ ਅਸ਼ਟਪਦੀ ਸਮਝਾਉਂਦੀ ਐ ਕਿ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ, ਦੇਵਤੇ ਤੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਭ ਇੱਕ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਨੇ ਤੇ ਉਹਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ; ਵੇਦ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਜੀ ਵੀ ਉਹਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝ ਸਕੇ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਐ, ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇ, ਉਹ ਸਹਿਜੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਐ। This Punjabi Gurbani Katha explains Ang 421–423 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji: three Ashtpadis (eight-stanza compositions) in Raag Asa, the first two by Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the third by Guru Amar Das Ji.
