If you've been stretching your hip flexors for months with no real change, there's a reason — static stretching can actually trigger a reflex that makes the muscle tighten right back up, and it doesn't address why your nervous system is holding onto that tension in the first place. The iliopsoas is a set of deep core muscles (comprised of the psoas major and the iliacus) that does far more than most people realise — it flexes your hip, rotates it, draws your leg inward, and even influences the tilt of your pelvis and the curve of your spine. When it's chronically tight, it can contribute to lower back pain, hip and groin pain, hyperlordosis, sciatica, scoliosis, snapping hip syndrome, and even an apparent difference in leg length. In this video, I'll walk you through a somatic movement sequence designed to help you release and regain conscious control of this often-overlooked muscle — no forcing, no static stretching, just slow, controlled movement that retrains the brain-muscle connection. 00:00 Introduction 00:08 What is the psoas? 01:34 Conditions of tight psoas 04:00 Ach & Flatten somatic release 07:56 Somatic psoas release 🌿 Subscribe for more somatic, gentle yoga, and yin movement practices:    / @pranadiuk   #clinicalsomatics #somatics #pandiculation #somaticmovement
