Senior SAPS officer accused of rape and sexual grooming - Adv Inez Bezuidenhout weighs in

A 59-year-old SAPS Lieutenant General who has been arrested on charges relating to sexual offences appeared at the Randburg Magistrates Court. The high-ranking police official was arrested yesterday by members of the Commissions Recommendations Task Team. The senior officer faces charges relating to the alleged sexual grooming of a 16-year-old girl between July and August 2026, as well as the alleged rape of an 18-year-old woman.
