Back in the day the right preacher, after the right sermon, with the right congregation would sing this old Negro spiritual and literally wreck the church with the spirit. Rev. Bennett Walker Smith, a powerful national leader, pastored St. John Baptist Church in Buffalo, N.Y. for 29 years. He passed away Aug. 7, 2001.
