House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 7 is a massive disappointment, suffering from bad writing, bizarre character choices, and a frustratingly slow pace that spins its wheels ahead of the finale. Despite the overwhelming flaws and stagnant plotting, the episode manages to deliver one huge dragon fight and one incredibly passionate scene with Aegon. This week, Marko and Dan break down exactly why this episode is such an incredibly frustrating watch, while also praising Aegon's fiery "resurrection" alongside a heavily scarred Sunfyre and his badass standoff alongside Tyland Lannister. We discuss the chaotic dragon jump where Caraxes and a fraudulent Syrax gang up on a poor Sheepstealer, Alicent’s cowardly and botched attempt to poison Aemond, and Aemond’s incredibly awkward Oedipal vision sequence with Alys Rivers. We also tear into Rhaenyra’s repetitive council scenes and her bizarre dynamic with Mysaria, Daemon receiving Corlys Velaryon’s severed finger in a box, and the constant, illogical teleporting of characters across the map.
