My hometown is Hokkaido — about 1,000km from where I live now. Living far away makes you think about certain things. How many more times will I get to show my parents my face? They're still well. But it won't last forever. So while they are, I'd like to go as often as I can. Three hours early at the airport, souvenirs before and after security, and a freshly baked Rikuro Ojisan cheesecake I nearly missed out on last time.
