Bandit Bar Live July 1988 Tape 1 - Veronicas, Playa de la Americas, Tenerife It`s the summer of 1988 and your on a lads holiday. You've been into hip-hop and House for a while now but have started to listen to a new branch of House called Acid. Imagine stumbling across a small bar in the Veronicas complex, in Playa de La Americas, that's playing all this music live. Steve Foster was the DJ and he was playing everything from electro, hip-hop, rap, balearic and acid house. He would sell the tapes along with Mad on Acid House t-shirts from his night`s work and hold regular beach parties. This is one of those tapes which has survived nearly 40 years and captures that magical time before rave took off and all the other genres of music that came later. When I went back in April 1989 the bar had become a clothes boutique and Steve had started working at the legendary Bobbys Bar nearby. This for me is where it all started and I`d give anything to go back in time to this place.
