Dale Allin enlisted in the United States Navy after graduating high school in 1965 and deployed to Vietnam as a hospital corpsman the following year. Allin served at various duty stations across the country, the most notable of which was with Hotel 2/5. He was wounded by enemy fire in March of 1967 and returned to duty after a brief stay in the hospital.
