The Promise Still Moves — Genesis 48–49
Jacob was 147. Egypt had been mercy for seventeen years.
Canaan was still home.
He adopted Joseph’s sons and crossed his hands — right hand on Ephraim, the younger, left hand on Manasseh, the older. Joseph tried to switch them. Jacob said, “I know, my son, I know.”
Then he spoke over the twelve. A scepter in Judah’s line. A burial in the cave of Machpelah, not in Egypt.
This song is about faith at the end of a long life — blessing what he could not yet see. The word God spoke at Beersheba is still moving through the next generation.
