Asahi Kasei Unveils a Multi-Module Water Electrolysis Pilot Plant ―Asahi Kasei

Asahi Kasei has completed construction of a multi-module water electrolysis pilot plant for hydrogen production at its Kawasaki Works, which is now operational. The company previously installed a large 10 MW-scale alkaline water electrolyzer at FH2R as part of a project with Japan’s NEDO, conducting demonstrations since 2020. Expanding its efforts, Asahi Kasei has now constructed the pilot plant at Kawasaki Works featuring four electrolyzer modules. This new facility is designed for rigorous testing of responsiveness to power fluctuations and long-term durability. The construction of this plant was supported by NEDO's "Green Innovation Fund."
